
Svetlana Zhemchuzhina
Born in Omsk.
She began studying music in early childhood. In 1998, she graduated with honors from the V. Ya. Shebalin Omsk College of Music (M.I. Uritsky's class), entered the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music (E.K. Adzhemova's class), and graduated with honors in 2003.
Laureate of an international competition.
1996-1997 — Intern at the Omsk Academic Symphony Orchestra,
2000-2001 — Orchestral artist at the Russian Academic Musical Theatre,
2001-2023—New Russia Orchestra, artistic director Yury Bashmet (until 2002, known as the Young Russia Orchestra, artistic director M. B. Gorenshteyn),
2004-2017—Illustrator for the Chamber Ensemble Department of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music,
From 2018 to the present—Concertmaster of the first violins at the Moscow State Academic Drama Theatre named after N. I. Sats.
Over the years, she has performed as a guest musician with orchestras (the Moscow Soloists Chamber Orchestra, the State Chamber Orchestra, the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, the musicAeterna Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra, the Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Musical Theatre, and others) and chamber ensembles.
Collaborates with composers Anton Silaev and Alexey Chintsov, recording music for feature films and documentaries (Eastern Front, Elsa's Land, The End of the Film, The Disobedient One II, and others).
At the Fomenko Workshop since 2015.
